The 2023 Picnic Was Simply … Great!

We had a lot of happy people show up to have fun visiting with other alumni … listening to the high school band, eating a good lunch from the Boosters Club, deserts too! The giveaways were very popular, the car show was nice to see and Jerry Still even got his car fixed-up / started-up and showed it off too!

San Juan Alumni Association
2023 All-Class Picnic
October 7th, 2023
Held at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights

Don’t miss the registration table. You can get an event itinerary and buy a lunch ticket. The San Juan Booster Club is cooking up a great meal. Next, slide over and see what’s cooking at the membership table. Don’t forget to stop by the Legacy Exhibit table to learn more about the Exhibit on the San Juan campus and buy some swag.  As in the past, we welcome all San Juan classes, sports teams, clubs and other San Juan related organizations to come and set-up a table display or reception area at no cost. Groups will be responsible for their own tables, chairs and pop-up structures, though there are plenty of shaded picnic tables for all to use.

As in the past, an Opportunity Drawing will allow you the chance to take home some really great prizes. Prizes will be on display adjacent to the check-in area. You’ll just have come and see what’s available. Tickets are $1.00 each or 25 for $20.00. This is a fundraiser for the Alumni Association’s various student support efforts. Drop your tickets in receptacles next to the prizes you want to win. Drawings will begin at 2:00pm. You must be present to win. If you want a prize bad enough, feel free to inundate that receptacle with numerous tickets to up your odds. Best of luck!

Back by popular demand, the San Juan Unified School District’s antique school bus will make an appearance. Come see the repairs made to it via funding by the generous members of the SJAA and the district. It will be adjacent to the Children’s Play Area and will serve as the site of the traditional event group photo at 1:00pm sharp.  Classic and antique cars will be on display scattered about the picnic area. Come visit and talk shop with the car owners, most will be fellow San Juan alumni. Great photo opportunities here.

Performances by the San Juan High Band and Cheer Team will spice up the event. It’s our hope that Nancy Thomas, ’74, will again don her high school cheer uniform and join the Cheer Team.

You may drop me a line via email at with questions about the event. We hope to see you there!
